"Excellent place - great food and beautiful trails! Loved it! Thanks for a great weekend." -Dixie, Wausau, WI
The Farm's quiet, spacious land and scenic horse trails are the perfect place to spend time with your horse, friends, and family. We have many miles of private horse trails on our 800 acres of private land for you and your horse to explore. Experience a variety of north woods habitat, including fields, forests, hills, and ponds.
The Farm's trails are generally easy to ride on and well suited to the beginning or intermediate horseback rider. The terrain is mostly gently rolling hills with a few steeper man-made hills. Some trails have a few shallow stream crossings, but the depth is normally not more than one to two feet.
There are also many public trails a short drive away. Here are just a few:
Holy Cross trail, located 7.5 miles north of Phillips, has recently been developed specifically for horseback riding. Features rolling terrain through a variety of timber types.
Timm's Hill trail, located east of Ogema, allows horses on their trails from May 1st to November 15th. The very hilly terrain surrounds Wisconsin's highest point. Horses cannot be ridden in Timm's Hill park itself, but you can unload your horses by the hitching post in the parking area on the east side of Bass Lake to access the trail.
Traillink.com has a list of general horseback riding locations, including state parks.
