"Thank you for all the warm hospitality! I had a lovely time. Warmest wishes to you and all your family." -Carrie, Cary, IL
The River Cabin is perched on a beautiful spot above the Somo River. This cabin's wooden architecture and country-style decorations will make you feel right at home. Admire the view from the beautiful bay window while reclining on comfortable furniture in front of a wood-burning fireplace in the family room.

Jim Palmquist built the River Cabin in 1977 using balsam and aspen wood cut from nearby forests. The most interesting feature of this cabin is the front door, which used to belong to the Price County Sheriff's Office. When the old building was torn down, Jim bought the door for a mere $2 and installed it on the River Cabin. Included with the door was the original wind-up mechanical doorbell, which was used to wake the Sheriff when he was needed. Though the bell no longer works, it is still enjoyed as an antique decoration.
